Dr. Dorn is a water resources engineer with over 13 years of progressive professional experience in various aspects of planning and design of sanitary sewer collection system projects with an emphasis on computer modeling, pressure/flow monitoring data analysis, and sanitary sewer rehabilitation.
After receiving his doctorate in civil engineering from North Carolina State University in December 2004, he served as a post-doctoral research associate in the university’s Civil Engineering Department working on “Modeling and Optimization of Civil Engineering Infrastructure.”
The research included the development of an “expert system” to automate the planning and design of sanitary sewer systems, developing design and cost models, and developing optimization algorithms. Dr. Dorn is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
